Successful Habits
It's
already Day 3 of the Financial Freedom Challenge.
And
today's concept is: Success can be automatic.
Ever heard
this saying? "First we make our habits.
Then our
habits make us."
Well,
isn't that especially true when it comes to
money? We
create our habits around money. And
then our
habits around money make (or break) us.
Of course,
most people have the best of intentions
when it
comes to managing their finances. What's a
shame is
that a lot of people's dreams are thwarted
by their
failure to act upon their good intentions.
Their
failure to make good financial management a
habit.
There are
so many technology-based financial tools
available
today to help save you time and money.
We think
we'd be awfully remiss if we didn't devote
one day of
the Financial Freedom Challenge to them.
So, today
your finances are getting some tech support.
But don't
rush out and grab yourself a pocket protector
just yet.
These are technology-based tips and tools
that
anyone can use.
Of course,
there's one catch. Just like we couldn't
tell you
yesterday which expenses you should slash,
we can't
tell you which ones of these to take advantage
of either.
That's up to you.
So we've created
another list. And we challenge you
to pick at
least two.
Then tell
everyone on Facebook and Twitter with
hashtag
#7DaysThatPay how success is about to
come
automatically for you.
*Set up
automatic bill pay to save you late fees
and lift
your FICO score (on-time payment history
accounts
for 35 percent of your score).
*Have a
set amount of money (let's say $100)
automatically
transferred from your checking account
to a
savings account each month, and in five years at
2 percent
interest you could have more than $6,300
set aside.
Wow.
*Make
small contributions to 401K or college fund
accounts
when you're not even looking.
*Commit
just a little extra money each month toward
a car or
mortgage payment. After a few times you won't
even miss
the extra cash.
Did you know that adding one...
Did you know that adding one...
extra
payment per year can help you pay off your
mortgage
loan five years faster? And you don't have
to make
that extra payment all in one month. Spread
it out
over 12.
*Get paid
by direct deposit. You can even get your
company to
automatically deposit a percentage of your
check into
a savings account. So you never see that
money,
while your savings and interest add up.
*Input
calendar reminders that will automatically
prompt you
to check your oil or shop for a birthday gift.
Planning
ahead on little purchases can save you big.
Psst:
Later in the week we're also going to talk about
how to use
technology to save big on purchases.
Like
pocket protectors. And Star Wars stuff.
We think
this "geek" thing really works for you,
Friend.
To your
success,
Peak
Potentials
